Project

What’s « Honorine » ?

Honorine is a project created to showcase local initiatives and associations protecting the human rights of women and encouraging their empowerment in the world.

Who am I ?

Emilie

28 years old

Last job : Logistics Engineer

Language skills : French, English, Spanish

Why this project ?

Because according to the United Nations, around the world, violence against women is a major obstacle to human development. One in three women has been raped, beaten, or suffer some form  at least once in their life (according to WHO).

Because in Western countries, differences persist even if conditions have improved markedly since the 60s and the emergence of many feminist movements. Inequalities are visible both in the world of work (wage difference, part-time, restricted to senior management, low participation in politics access) or daily with the division of household tasks.

Because… women constitute 70% of the 1.2 billion people living with less than 1 dollar / day according to UN Women

Because two thirds of illiterates are women

Because every year, four million women are sold into forced marriage, slavery and prostitution

Because in OECD countries less than 30% of businesses are owned by women.

Because in some countries women do not have the same legal rights as men.

What is the route ?
